My most recent article, “Cecylja Klaftenowa’s Vision for Jewish Orphans in Interwar Lwów: From Relief to Emancipation,” appears in Polin: Studies in Polish Jewry 36: Jewish Childhood in Eastern Europe (2024).
I spoke about Klaftenowa’s school’s relationship with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (The Joint or JDC) in July 2024 as part of a JDC webinar series.
I presented my initial work on Cecylja Klaftenowa’s Lwów-based girls’ trade school for the University of Washington’s Department of Slavic Languages & Literatures in July 2020.
I also speak to non-academic audiences. I most recently led a short learning session at Congregation Beth Israel on the Polish Jewish love affair with kefir for the holiday of shvues.
